It’s too hot to bake today, so instead I’m brainstorming some ideas for this week, just in case it gets 2 degrees cooler.
NPR has a recipe for chocolate chip bacon cookies (photo above). This intrigues me. As I find myself consistently outnumbered by vegetarians at most parties, I’ve had the chance to nibble a fake-bacon cupcake, but never a real bacon cookie.
Glazed lemon bread. (OK)
Whole wheat yeasted olive oil pastry. (YES!)
Perhaps I’ll attempt to make something savory, such as this cherry tomato tart, or a zucchini and swiss chard one.
Or perhaps I will make nothing at all and continue to survive off my pretzels from last week. They freeze really well, by the way. Just pop one in the microwave for 10 seconds and you are good to go.
Until next time.

Alright, I’ll try not to leave a comment on every single post, but 1) don’t let veggies scare you off and 2) we need to go to the new beer garden on H St so you can figure out how to make their pretzel balls for me.
